June Wrap up and A New Quarter!

June is over, we are well into summer! This also means the quarter is over and a new one begins today so with this post I will be wrapping up June and assessing my quarterly goals.

What have I done this month?

A fair question (I ask myself), June has seen the beginning of yet another draft of The Revelation Academy and seen it pass the 10,000 word mark. It has also seen the start of my freelance career, I have now gotten and completed my first writing job. As much as I love to write it does feel good to get paid for it. I feel like I’m standing at the beginning of a wonderful career as a full time writer!

What are my plans for July?

Another good question. July is the second Camp NaNoWriMo of the year and I plan to reach 30,000 words of a new idea I’ve been cooking up. An epic fantasy following a princess on a quest to win the crown from a group of candidates. I’ve also got some more freelance writing jobs lined up that should keep me going throughout the month, with a break at the end when I go on holiday with my fiancé’s family.

Quarterly Goals – April to June

I had seven goals for this quarter, including four professional goals and three personal goals. I have completed four of those seven while I have made a start on another two. I’m happy with this so I’m going to call it a win.

Quarterly Goals – July to September

I’m automatically adding the three incomplete goals to the new quarter and adding another five. In total I have five professional goals and three personal goals. I’m hoping to have a better success rate for this quarter. I might break some of the quarterly goals down into weekly or maybe daily goals to make them seem more achievable.

How has your quarter gone? What are your plans for the next three months?
