Camp NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow and my prep has not gone very well. If you remember a couple days ago I mentioned a new idea that I wanted to work on for July Camp, however that idea is not well enough prepared to go ahead with. So I will be continuing with my current work in progress, The Revelation Academy.
I am keeping to my plan of 30,000 words for the month, which nicely works out to 1,000 words a day. I am planning on getting a good head start on this target tomorrow, just to give myself a nice cushion for the days where I fall short of the 1,000 words per day.
There are only a few days in July where I know I won’t be able to do any writing so I have a plan to write about 1,250 words a day to keep above my target. I’m hoping this will get me over the halfway point in my current draft, I’m sitting at 11,000 words so far so an extra 30,000 will do me just fine!
I think rewriting a novel during NaNoWriMo could go a lot better than writing it from scratch, I know what is going to happen, I just need to write it better than I did the last time.
I’ll be posting regular updates here throughout July, sharing my progress every couple of days. My first post will be tomorrow evening.
So what are you working on for Camp NaNoWriMo? Something new or a work in progress? I would love to know!
