Welcome to the last day of the month! We are a whole month into 2018 and its had its fair share of ups and downs already. The pros of my month have included having this blog be a success already, the wedding plans have begun and a decent book haul. This post is to showcase the books I have bought/received this month. I hope you enjoy!
Chasm City – Alastair Reynolds
Excession – Iain M Banks
Children of Time – Adrian Tchaikovsky
These three Sci-Fi books were recommended by a friend as I am in the process of planning out a Sci-Fi novel but I haven’t really read all that much in the genre. I love to watch it on TV and Film though. I have had a peak at Excession but I haven’t really started on them just yet.
A Gathering of Shadows – V E Schwab
This was a Christmas present, but I didn’t actually get it until this month so it counts! I read the first in the series A Darker Shade of Magic in 4 days on holiday in December. It is brilliant! I knew I would finish the series so I went out and bought the third and final book in the series shortly after.
A Conjuring of Light – V E Schwab
Truthwitch – Susan Dennard
I came across this book on Twitter, I can’t remember exactly who mentioned it but I am thankful they did. I bought this one on Kindle and read it in six days! See my previous blog post for my review. After finishing this book I had to get the next one. I have started reading Windwitch already! The third in the series, Sightwitch, is out 13th February and you can pre-order it here.
Windwitch – Susan Dennard
Anna Undreaming – Thomas Welsh (ARC Copy)
I came across this author during NaNoWriMo last year and I quickly became excited for the release of his debut novel. I pre-ordered the book as soon as I could and I thought I would try my hand at winning a ARC (advanced reader copy). I got very lucky and am now reading the digital version. The book will be released on 20th March 2018 and you can pre-order it here. Keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks for my review.
Extracted – R R Haywood
I stumbled upon this book on Kindle, I was not recommended it but I am quite intrigued.
Have you read any of these books? What did you think? What books have you bought/received this month?
