The Sunshine Blogger Award

This blog has been up since June 2017, but running semi-regularly since November 2017, and yet I find myself in a surprising position. I have been nominated by the lovely Melanie Fraser over at Fraser Fun House, so go check out her blog.

I have seen posts about the Sunshine Blogger award for a while now but I admit I didn’t really know what it was about until today. The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award that is given by bloggers to bloggers to create a sense of community between them, also to inspire creativity in others. The idea is to nominate 11 bloggers that inspire you, ask them 11 questions and answer the questions given to you. I have answered the 11 questions even to me below and added my own questions below that.

Here are my nominations for the Sunshine Blogger Award:

  1. Sunburnt Aloe
  2. A Yarny Life
  3. Sara in LaLaLand
  4. Laissez Faire
  5. Caroo Makeup
  6. My Scrambled Egg
  7. The Girlfriend Experience
  8. Jess Clare
  9. Tiger Lily Diary
  10. Oddball Content
  11. Why Words Work

Here are the questions I have been asked.

How long have you been blogging and what inspired you to start?

I have been blogging for about six months now. Honestly I just love to write so the thought of writing odds and sods and getting it out there whenever I wanted really appealed to me. It’s only recently that I decided I wanted to focus my blog on book reviews.

What is your favourite movie and why?

Ok, this changes from day to day but an all time favourite is The Lion King. It is just brilliant, the story, songs and sheer awesomeness of the film will always stay with me.

If you were given 1 million pounds to spend on anything you wanted what would you buy and why?

I would buy what was necessary so myself and my family could live happily ever after. I would also make sure I had a safety net so I could quite my full-time job and write all the time.

If you could invite four people to a dinner party (dead or alive) who would you ask?

My fiance James, because quite frankly if I don’t have someone I know there I will probably just sit there and not say anything. Plus he is my fiance so he is amazing anyway.

John Oliver, from Last Week Tonight, because he seems quite fun to hang out with and we seem to share many views, although I’m not sure how much input he has on the scripts for his show.

J K Rowling. I don’t think this one really needs explaining.

Robin Williams. I miss him, he was a brilliant comedian and actor and I would love to just sit and chat with him about life.

Describe your ideal day

A late morning followed by coffee, breakfast and a day full of writing. Maybe a short walk in the middle of it all. Finish it off with a movie night with James, preferably a Marvel movie as we always seem to have more discussions after those than with other types of films.

Are you an early riser of a night owl?

Night owl!!! What is this morning people talk of?

If you could be granted one wish what would it be?

To never have to worry about money again. That sounds like I just want to be rich. I don’t just want that, I just want to not have that worry at the back of my mind ever again, it isn’t fun. But if I were rich then I would want to be able to help anyone who needed it.

Tea or coffee drinker?

Coffee. I can’t stand tea, which is odd in my family.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would you choose and why?

Probably potato. In any form. Mash, chips, baked and the best, roasted!

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Quite frankly I would love to have Melissa McCarthy, but my life isn’t really funny enough to warrant her being cast. I’m not sure if it was a complete non-fiction movie and not a hilarious misrepresentation.

Please share your favourite blog post with us 😊

I’m not sure if this is meant to be my favourite post of my own, or of someone else so I will share both.

Mine – Winning NaNoWriMo – this was when I finished the first draft of my first book, I was so happy.

Others – Reasons To Write Today – because this is a great way to get a kick up the a*se to get writing every day.

And here are my 11 questions for my 11 nominations.

  1. Favourite genre to read?
  2. Favourite genre to write?
  3. Poolside or exploring holiday?
  4. What is your ultimate aim/hope for your blog? No matter how ridiculous it might seem.
  5. Who is your favourite fictional character? Why?
  6. Oddest job you have either done or heard of?
  7. Is there one country that you really want to visit above all others? Why that one?
  8. If you could only ever recommend one book or author ever again what/who would it be?
  9. If you had no restrictions (financial/anxiety/literally any restriction) what is the one activity that you would do?
  10. What is one song that always makes you happy? (If it’s on YouTube add a link so we can all have a listen).
  11. Share with the class one phrase/poem/lyric/quote that always gives you hope.

Well there you have it, nominees I can’t wait to read your answers to my questions!

Thank you Melanie for the nomination!

    1. I remember when I first heard that he had died. I just sat in shock for a while. I don’t think I could ever change to an early bird, being a night owl is far too ingrained! I have to get up early for work, but I don’t actually fully wake for several hours!
